Lot of times it translates but doesnt make any sense.

Excellent app!! But, an improvement would be for setting it up so users could add synonyms to be saved to the definitions that the app now has. Granted that synonyms are listed below before one saves the translation, but only the one word for the translation is visible and saved. Often times in French anyway, it is important to memorize a few synonyms, too. Thank you for making this app !!

Wow. This is a terrific translator. Ive been using it for Spanish and German, and its great. Also, it read my scribbles really well.

Good because Ive been meaning to learn Japanese, and now I can say stuff in Japanese on Pictochat! Though I need to work on my handwriting though. Currently can write "good evening." EDIT: Will update as I learn more! :>) <------Look its Chica as an emoticon!

Great when on the raod! Dont forget to download an offilne dictionary so that you can use it if your phone is kept in Airplane Mode abroad.

No synchronisation of history and favourites with other devices, Google Drive, or iCloud; no Safari integration; and hit-or-miss translation accuracy—in other words, a typical half-arsed Google app!

I love how quick and easy the app is (especially the live photo translation) but it poorly translates casual words and phrases. Might be good for day to day life but would recommend iTranslate if living in a foreign country.

It is usually very good. At times I wish I could access the foreign alphabet characters. It does not always guess what word I wish to translate.

I just tried image translation while shopping in a polish store. Open the app, select the from and to languages then click on the camera icon. Point to product, then you see the same image where the text was translated!!!

Doesnt work unless you speak into it

Its actually a "provocation";Kind of. Some words are translated with Spanish word e.g: las ... or el... or even los... that are Spanish words not French... ITS OBVIOUS YOU DONT CARE OF FRENCH LANGUAGE...So youd better give it up... really... Essayez simplement de traduire quelques phrases et vous constaterez de graves erreurs de syntaxe et des non-sens ainsi que des contre-sens... PLEASE, Google, laissez tomber votre mauvaise volonté à faire votre JOB, et faite de largent autrement... Shame on you... So, no "regards" from me. Bye.

This truly is a spectacular app. The only suggestion I have for google is to not dim the image so much when you are translating text on an image by highlighting the text you want to select.

For people who dont speak Cantonese and wish to use this in Hong Kong, this app is not helpful at all since it only speak mandarin.

If its worth doing, do it right, do it once new once & make sure youve got enough money. In which case, I suppose you can do what you want. Lets not over analyze this.
