Google Translate App Reviews

Pretty useless for Hebrew. Whether written, typed or photographed the app gets it wrong like 90% of the time. I gave up. Then it scratches my first review submission because the user name was taken. Way to write software.

Im bilingual, I speak fluent Tagalog and I have tested this app, and it does a stellar job of translating words. Im now trying to learn a 3rd language and this app is helping me out a lot!!! Amazing!!

I know Spanish and the grammar on this app is horrible . Hire a Hispanic or something !

Whenever I try to record my voice the app freezes and I have to force close the app.

Cant switch back and fourth between languages without numerous sets. Detect to language, language back to detect

The app does an OK job of translating individual words, but the text is so small it is very difficult to read for those of us with trifocals.

One of the best translation appsnout there. I use the camera feature in japan to translate kanji and it usually works (not 100% of the time, but I aint complaining)

When I try to scribble in large Japanese text, it lets me scribble it in only partially, then it all disappears. Other than that, its ok. Sometimes when I translate things, it doesnt make sense when translated to English.

This app is very helpful. It helps me get my Spanish homework in no time. The camera can use some work, but that is what updates are for

I would click the sound button and it wouldnt play any sound. I tried turning up the volume, refreshing it, and redoing the word, but nothing worked.

When trying to use the spoken translator function - my main usage - the app 98% of the time will immediately cease listening the moment speech begins. Complete fail on this feature, Google. I give it two stars because at least it gives a decent basic translation for typed material.

I say almost for a reason Ill delve into. First off though, Ive used this app since its early days. Its efficient, its accurate, and the new Live-translation tool is almost mind-boggling. Ive never been able to rely on any other app for translation as well as Google Translate. Now the only reason I dont give this one a 5-star rating is because Live-Translate is missing one critical language for a lot of the Internet: Japanese. You can still take a picture of it or type it in and itll translate, but we cant use Live-Translate to read those texts for Japan-only games and such yet. As soon as this is implemented, the app will gain my full 5-star rating.

Voice and cam section isnt working there greyed out

The interface is so poorly designed that its unbelieveably user-unfriendly. Several suggestions: we want to be able to select and copy parts of the text, not the entire thing (go figure). With voice input, we want more solutions displayed (like with the typed one, where you get several meanings), not just one. Finally, the source and target texts should be able to be followed simultaneously, side-by-side, not one above the other (or at least not with all the scrolling).

When will you come out with a version for Apple Watch?
